Coast Airport Transfers
Travelling to the Gold Coast
will involve airport transfers (shuttle service) for many holiday
makers. Arrival by air is at the local
Gold Coast airport at Coolangatta, or the
Brisbane airport
terminals. The trip involves time and expense that
has to be considered in any holiday planning.
The options for airport transfers are shown below.
Motor Coach Shuttle Services
One of the most common transfers is by mini coaches that provide an
airport "meet 'n greet" service at both Coolangatta and Brisbane and a
drop-off at the front door of the accommodation property. The mini coach vehicles
are usually fitted with a trailer for surplus luggage. Airport
pick-ups and drop-off are in the designated coach zones.
Travel times to Brisbane Airport are approximately:
2½ to 3 hours from southern Gold Coast (Coolangatta, Tweed Heads)
2 hours from central Gold Coast (Surfers Paradise, Broadbeach area)
1hour 15min from northern Gold Coast (Labrador, Runaway Bay area)
Tickets need to be booked in advance and a minimum of 48 hours notice is
recommended.

Airtrain Connect

This is a combined rail and road service that connects Brisbane and
the Gold Coast. It provides a door-to-door service that transfers visitors
to and from the Brisbane airports (domestic and international) and their
Gold Coast accommodation. The road portion of the transfer uses sedan limousines.
Rail platforms
are located at the front of the Brisbane airport terminals and the service runs
every 15 minutes from Brisbane and every 30 minutes from the Gold Coast.
The service connects to stations at: Robina: For Broadbeach and all areas south to Coolangatta
Nerang: For Surfers Paradise, Main Beach and central Gold
Coast
Helensvale: For Labrador, Biggera Waters, Runaway Bay and
northern Gold Coast
Tickets can be booked in advance and can also be purchased at the
station.
Limousine Services
For that special occasion or a preference for personalised service, there is
the option of a chauffeur
driven limousine.
There are choices ranging from a Rolls Royce, stretch limo and corporate
sedan. Limousines need to be booked well in advance and are available from both
the Brisbane and Coolangatta airports.

Car Rentals
Renting a car for the holiday? Why not pick-up your
Gold Coast rental car from
the airport when you arrive and save the
cost of airport transfers? There is a wide range of rental
vehicles available on the Gold Coast with all the major companies
represented as well as a broad cross section of local companies offering
everything from open top sports buggies to luxury sports cars. Many Gold
Coast rental companies will provide a Brisbane airport pick-up and
drop-off.
